Like his own boss fights, Borderlands 3 keep going. Today, Gearbox has details on Director’s Cut, an upcoming DLC for The Plunder that appears on March 18th.

Director’s Cut will add a series of recurring challenges called Vault Cards, concept art, storyboards, and something players have long been tempted to do: a raid boss.

Like the first game’s Crawmerax the Invincible, this new raider – a giant, fire-breathing pig called Hemovorous – is also the suffix “the Invincible”. Do you know that door on Pandora that has been locked since day one? Hemovorous lives behind it. You need 500 Eridium pony every time to unlock the door and tackle the fight.

The Director’s Cut DLC also adds story-driven side missions. One, with the budding siren Ava, focuses on a series of interstellar murder mysteries. The narration was apparently done like a podcast Series seven years ago it was not a fad.

Director’s Cut is the second part of Borderlands 3‘s second season passes, which sells for $ 30 and includes last fall Designer’s Cut DLC. Season pass owners also get a bonus set of cosmetics that are not available through individual extension purchases. (You can pick up the Designer’s Cut piece by piece for $ 15.)

Gearbox initially described Designer’s Cut as a ‘roguelike experience’, which is just that. The Designer’s Cut DLC sends you to a new area – the snow-blue Stormblind complex – and wipes out your taxes. You must acquire new equipment and fight waves of enemies while an invading storm pulls the map together, aiming to eventually take down a (relatively easy) boss. You can add any equipment you earn to different kiosks on the map so you can keep it permanent. If it’s anything, it’s more of a cooperating battle king than a roguelike, but hey, what’s the terms?

The recurring Broken Hearts Day seasonal event also runs from tomorrow until February 25th. Broken Hearts Day is brilliant in its simplicity. Color-coded hearts float around the world. Shoot them. Get loot. As with most Borderlands 3 events, you can turn it on or off, but it’s unclear why anyone would turn off something active that offers a whole Skittles rainbow booty.

Since he hit the shelves 18 months ago, Borderlands 3 received it four additional campaign extensions, who were all part of the first season pass. And then, out of that not, Gearbox announced the second season passes last fall. Like any of the game’s boss fights – including, assume one, Hemovorous the Invincible –Borderlands 3 goes on.

Beyond Borderlands 3, Telltale’s Tales From the Borderlands will return on February 17 to digital store windows on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. One hiccup: the re-released version of the game no longer contains the screens at the end that compare your choices to those of other players.
