Merimbula shark attack: beach closed after woman bites NSW far in the south coast

A 63-year-old woman was taken to hospital after being bitten by a shark on Merimbula’s main beach.

The woman was bitten on her hip and back around 07:00 on Saturday.

Emergency services attended the scene and about 30km of beach, off the south coast of New South Wales, were closed while officials confirmed the type and size of shark.
