With the Golden Globes almost here, Twitter has erupted in shock and dismay that the founding organization of the ceremony, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, has no black members and has not for the past twenty years.
After the poor recognition of the problem revealed by the HFPA yesterday, Ava DuVernay, the former Globes winner Sterling K. Brown, Judd Apatow, Shonda Rhimes, did not like the reality of the situation well. Lovecraft Country‘s Jurnee Smollett, Patton Oswalt and dozens of others who weighed in on social media to express their displeasure and cast huge shadows on social media.

The HFPA composition seems insane due to the increasing focus on diversity in Hollywood and across the country that has been accelerated by the protests by the police killings of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor.
“So many crazy things about the Golden Globes and the Hollywood Foreign Press, but it’s awful,” Apatow said.
