Atlanta Hawks keeper Trae Young wrapped up a play by Grayson Allen of the Memphis Grizzlies, from Saturday’s fight, and apparently felt that Allen was deliberately trying to drive him away.
Young emerges from a screen as Allen walks backwards and their feet become entangled, while Young stumbles a bit on the play.
“Damn … tell me what you guys see !! Smh,”
Young tweeted Sunday. “it should stop.! #ifyoudontknownowyouknow”
Allen has a reputation for stumbling opponents, and goes back to his time at Duke. In 2017, coach Mike Krzyzewski disciplined Allen for repeated incidents.
Allen sarcastic responds to Young on Twitter: “Damn it must have really, really hurt. I’m sorry. I hope you’re okay.”
Allen and Young have a bit of history. The two suffered double technical errors in a preseason game this year. Prior to that, Young and Allen struggled in a summer league game as rookies in 2018.
The visiting Falcons beat the Grizzlies 122-112 on Saturday, with Young scoring a game-high 36 points with nine assists.
