At least seven people were shot dead near a subway station in Philadelphia on Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.
A gun battle broke out near SEPTA’s Olney Transportation Center at about 2:50 p.m., and one person was arrested, Philadelphia 35th District Police said.
Two victims were shot in the back, one was wounded in the ankle, one was shot in the leg and one in the arm, police said. It was not immediately clear where the other two were injured.
Six victims were rushed to Albert Einstein Medical Center and one to Temple University Hospital, officials said.
A suspect was captured and two firearms were recovered, police said.
