Armed robbery in Portland leads to five arrests after a rapid chase: reports

Five people associated with an armed robbery of a marijuana pharmacy were reportedly arrested Friday in Portland, Ore.

The arrests followed a rapid chase on Interstate 84 that caused the fleeing vehicle to reach speeds of 100 miles per hour, reports FOX 12 of Oregon.

At one point, the fleeing vehicle left the interstate and dispersed the five occupants on foot into a neighborhood. Two people were quickly apprehended while the remaining three were caught around 6pm – about four hours after the chase began, FOX 12 reported.

Not everyone arrested is described as a ‘suspect’, police told Portland’s KOIN-TV, pending further results of an investigation.

Employees at the marijuana pharmacy said they were detained with firearms during the alleged robbery. It was unclear what items or amount of cash might have been taken. No injuries were reported immediately.

The FOX 12 report involved the police response at the Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) unit in the city.

None of those arrested were immediately identified.
