Arizona Extends Individual Income Tax Deadline

PHOENIX – Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey has extended the deadline for filing individual income taxes in Arizona from Thursday, April 15 to Monday, May 17.

Ducey says he has decided to reconcile the federal government’s decision to file its deadline.

Senate Bill 1297, introduced by Senator TJ Shope and Representative Shawnna Bolick, ensures that taxpayers will not receive fines or interest for late payment on tax returns filed before May 17 or submitted before May 17.

The bill also gives taxpayers extra time to contribute to certain charities, including foster care organizations, public schools and school education organizations, for claiming their tax credits.

Officials say the extension only applies to individual income tax returns. Estimated payments are still payable on April 15th.
