While still shrouded in mystery, the next film by David O. Russell is becoming a massive film. As reported by Deadline, Anya Taylor-Joy, Robert De Niro, Mike Myers, Timothy Olyphant, Michael Shannon, Chris Rock, Andrea Riseborough, Matthias Schoenaerts and Alessandro Nivola are new in the cast of the director nominated by the multi-Oscar . . For the New Regency helmed function, they join previously announced cast members Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, John David Washington, Rami Malek and Zoe Saldana.

David O. Russell’s first film since 2015’s “Joy” is still untitled and has no plot details, and is based on his own original idea, with the filming currently in California. New Regency’s Arnon Milchan will co-produce with Matthew Budman and Anthony Katagas.

It’s quite a cast for Russell, whose many Oscar-nominated films are known for their great ensembles. He has personally shared five Oscar nominations, including two in 2014 for Best Director for “American Hustle” and Best Original Screenplay, shared with Eric Warren Singer for that film; Best Director for “Silver Linings Playbook” in 2013 and Best Adapted Screenplay; and Best Director for “The Fighter” in 2011. His “Silver Linings Playbook” earned Jennifer Lawrence the award for Best Actress at the Academy Awards. Meanwhile, Christian Bale deserves the best supporting role in ‘The Fighter’. His ensembles tend to point out a myriad of nominations in the categories.

Rumors that Russell is dating the court with Myers, De Niro and Michael Shannon date back to 2020. Russell previously collaborated with De Niro on both ‘Joy’ and ‘Silver Linings Playbook’. The latter earned De Niro an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor in an Oscar.

New Russell collaborator Anya Taylor-Joy is set to have a winning year thanks to Netfix’s “The Queen’s Gambit”, one of last year’s most acclaimed shows. She then starred in Furiosa in George Miller’s prequel to ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’, which features the role of Charlize Theron in his 2015 film. She was also recently reunited with the Viking saga ‘The Northman’ by her director ‘The Witch’, with Nicole Kidman and Alexander Skarsgard, and will soon be seen in director Edgar Wright’s time-consuming thriller ‘Last Night in Soho’ , which is currently set for April 23.
