Animal Crossing’s community makes Mario amazing mushroom kingdom creations

Mario and a few of his friends took a detour to Animal Crossing, and within days the endless artistic community transformed a relatively simple catalog of new Mario furniture items into beautiful island designs. , Animal Crossing: New Horizons celebrates Mario’s 35th anniversary with a slate of new Mario-themed items and costumes added to the game. It includes, along with outfits from Mario, Luigi, Peach and Wario, a number of decorative items like nothing the game has had before. There are coins that can be “collected” by players, interaction items such as stars and mushrooms, floating blocks and giant mushrooms on which items can be placed, and the most exciting of all – a Warp Pipe that can transport you to Warp in an instant Pipe placed elsewhere on your island.

The Animal Crossing community is obviously making a bit of a difference unbelievable creations, including yes, literally real platform courses:

Mario courses like these do not just appear overnight – literally – in Animal Crossing. All the Mario items are available via a separate tab of the Nook Shopping app, but the app limits you to five items per day. Which means that if you want to do extensive courses like this, you have to travel a lot of time …

Some players have used custom patterns on the ground to tame their outdoor levels in creative ways, such as this area reminiscent of air levels:

Or this amazing version of Rainbow Road:

Or even a Mario Party recreation:

Players not only hold incredible outdoor courses – there are also amazing indoor layouts done in people’s homes with the floor and wallpaper sets along with the Mario furniture items.

A few creators went beyond just recreating Mario 2D levels, and used custom design prints to put together recreations of favorite 3D spaces like Peach’s Castle:

Some smart players do not use the Mario items specifically to make Mario stages, but get smart with items like the Warp Pipes and floating blocks. The Warp Pipes, for example, facilitate island transportation in ways that make interesting or beautiful designs possible, which was not possible before, as it only takes up about a ‘square’ of space, while a driveway can occupy several. Others noted that the floating blocks could be used to make tunnels – again a feature that was not possible with the items and features previously available in the game.

There are many other beautiful creations that contain the Mario items, including several beautiful mushroom forests and this clever use of Warp Pipes that apparently ended up completely in the wrong video game:

Meanwhile, some people only use the Mario costumes to make ‘Mario’ do stupid things in the Animal Crossing universe:

Eventually, several creators noticed that at least one popular Mario character seems to have been left out of the costume options for this update: Waluigi. A few people tried to give the tennis-playing antagonist a look with custom clothing designs, and used the designs to express their disappointment via meme format, like this:

Sorry, Waluigi. Maybe next time? (Please, Nintendo!)
