Less than a week after audiences were enchanted during President Joe Biden’s inauguration ceremony, American youth poet-winner Amanda Gorman signed with one of the world’s largest modeling agencies.
On Monday, the 22-year-old Harvard graduate completed an agreement with IMG Models, representing fashion heavyweights such as Kate Moss and Gisele Bündchen, the agency confirmed to CNN.
Gorman was one of the breakthrough stars of the presidential inauguration last week, where she read her powerful poem “The Hill We Climb”. In addition to moving spectators in Washington and around the world, the Los Angeles resident was also impressed with her vibrant fashion choices.

In a yellow double-breasted coat by Italian designer Miuccia Prada and a red satin Prada headband, the poet and activist stood out against the more muted crowd behind her. She completed the outfit with jewelry – donated by Oprah Winfrey – by independent designers, including New York brand Of Rare Origin and Greek jewelry maker Nikos Koulis.
During the days since he was put in the spotlight worldwide, Gorman has made a number of notable public appearances. Anderson Cooper of CNN said on the air that he was during the interview shortly after the inauguration by the poet “taken over”. In addition to full-time models, IMG also has a variety of figures from the entertainment world, including Chrissy Teigen and Selena Gomez, as well as musicians, actors and sports stars such as Naomi Osaka. In the agency’s latest agreement, it will develop approvals and editorial opportunities for Gorman in the fashion and beauty sector.
Although Gorman has not yet issued a statement on the deal, she recently spoke to Vogue about her interest in fashion. In an interview published shortly before the inauguration, she told the magazine that she would be recording her ‘own kind of symbolism’ lately. Wednesday’s outfit.
