A victim who allegedly deals with sex trafficking may be working with members in Matt Gaetz investigation, says ex-girlfriend

Rep. Matt GaetzMatthew (Matt) Gaetz The officer who was wounded during a raid that killed Breonna Taylor gets book deal. McCarthy says Gaetz will not be punished unless the charges filed by Matt Gaetz make a six-figure ad purchase on CNN amid allegations of sex trafficking.‘s (R-Fla.) ex-girlfriend has expressed fears that a woman who is allegedly a sex trafficking victim of the Florida legislature will take up a call with her and envisage a second cooperating witness working with prosecutors in their investigation of the case.

The legislature is accused of traveling with the woman across state lines for sex when she was 17 years old in violation of the sex trafficking laws.

Gaetz’s ex-girlfriend expressed concern with two of her friends, who then handed them over to Politico. She told her co-workers the alleged victim and another person recorded a call in which they discussed Gaetz, apparently in an attempt to incriminate the Florida legislature.

The three participants in the call were all on a September 2018 trip to the Bahamas with Gaetz and two other Florida politicians. The trip is being investigated because the women suspect that some women have prostitution there.

The report comes days after it was revealed that Joel Greenberg, a former Florida tax collector charged in the Justice Department’s investigation into possible sex crimes that also includes Gaetz, is cooperating with federal authorities.

Greenberg told investigators he and Gaetz encountered several women who were receiving money in exchange for sex.

Gaetz denied any wrongdoing amid a number of allegations, including the demand for sex trafficking and that he made payments in exchange for sex, took illicit drugs and showed lawmakers nude photos of women he had sexual intercourse with.

Gaetz has increasingly received calls to resign over the allegations, although he has repeatedly vowed not to resign and Republicans have said they will wait to see if any charges are filed before imposing punishment on him.
