Hart disputes the results certified by the state after a retelling. But rather than go through the Iowa courts, she asked the Home Administration Committee to investigate 22 ballots that she said were improperly counted and that she said would provide guidance.
Pelosi temporarily put Miller-Meeks in January when the house was sworn in. Asked by reporters two weeks ago if she could possibly remove Miller-Meeks and Hart’s seat, Pelosi said ‘there could be a scenario to that extent’.
Any possible intention of the House Administration Committee to award the victory to Hart must be approved by a vote in the full chamber, and with a fragile majority, Pelosi cannot afford to lose many Democratic votes.
But Rep. Chris Pappas of New Hampshire, in a statement to Fox News on Monday night, said the election was decided. ‘This election result has been confirmed by the State of Iowa and Rep. “Miller-Meeks was sworn in almost three months ago,” he said. “As I said when the Republicans challenged the Electoral College’s vote on January 6, the election is over and it’s time to move on.”

North Carolina Democratic Representative David Price told Fox News’ Mike Emanuel on Sunday: “I am confident that all sides of the House administration’s process are well aware of how sensitive and difficult it is.”
Two other House Democrats – representatives Dan Kildee of Michigan and Lou Correa of California – have also expressed concern in recent days.
California Democratic Representative Zoe Lofgren, chairwoman of the House Administration, recently postponed a vote on Miller-Meek’s motion to dismiss Hart’s election challenge. Lofgren gave both parties until early April to submit written answers to a series of questions before deciding what steps to take.

The Democrats currently hold a 219-211 majority in the House, their most stringent majority since World War II.
There are currently five vacancies in the house. Three of the vacant seats were won in last year’s election by Democrats and two by Republicans. Special elections are being held this spring and summer to fill the vacant seats.
