Demi Lovato has revealed that her overdose in 2018 was more serious than anyone had guessed.
The 28-year-old singer explained to CBS Sunday Morning that she was only minutes away from death when she was found on the fateful night.
“The doctors told me I had five to ten minutes and … if no one found me, I would not be here,” she said in a clip released Friday.

Demi was open about her long-running battle with drug abuse and her struggles to take control of her life, saying she ‘had to die to wake up’.
She explained in the conversation that she is in a much better place now: ‘I feel good … I feel more joy in my life than I ever felt because [I’m not] to silence or diminish any part of myself. ‘
The interpretation of the skyscraper was admitted to hospital due to an overdose of heroin taken in July 2018 with the dangerous sedative fentanyl.

Lovato admitted that the traumatic event left her legally blind, and is still dealing with hearing loss, tinnitus and blind spots in her face.
The musician made the revelation in her new documentary Dancing with the Devil which debuts at the SXSW Film Festival on Tuesday.
She told the doctor she could not see her sister during a bed visit after her overdose, TMZ reports.
“It was interesting how quickly I adapted. “I did not give myself time to feel really sad about it. I was just like, ‘How do I fix this?’, She said according to the publication.
