Demi Lovato admits she was five to ten minutes from death when she found an overdose after 2018

Demi Lovato has revealed that her overdose in 2018 was more serious than anyone had guessed.

The 28-year-old singer explained to CBS Sunday Morning that she was only minutes away from death when she was found on the fateful night.

“The doctors told me I had five to ten minutes and … if no one found me, I would not be here,” she said in a clip released Friday.

“And I’m thankful I’m sitting here today,” she told correspondent Tracy Smith.

Demi was open about her long-running battle with drug abuse and her struggles to take control of her life, saying she ‘had to die to wake up’.

She explained in the conversation that she is in a much better place now: ‘I feel good … I feel more joy in my life than I ever felt because [I’m not] to silence or diminish any part of myself. ‘

The interpretation of the skyscraper was admitted to hospital due to an overdose of heroin taken in July 2018 with the dangerous sedative fentanyl.

Lovato admitted that the traumatic event left her legally blind, and is still dealing with hearing loss, tinnitus and blind spots in her face.

The musician made the revelation in her new documentary Dancing with the Devil which debuts at the SXSW Film Festival on Tuesday.

She told the doctor she could not see her sister during a bed visit after her overdose, TMZ reports.

“It was interesting how quickly I adapted. “I did not give myself time to feel really sad about it. I was just like, ‘How do I fix this?’, She said according to the publication.

In a preview of the documentary released last month, Lovato said she had a heart attack and three strokes after her overdose in June 2018 at her home in Los Angeles.

Demi admitted to CBS that the relapse took place after a period of deep unhappiness: “I have been sober for so many years, but I am still miserable.”

“I had no control over my life at that time. But yes, I also had to grow up and take control.

‘And this is something I have not done in the last two years of my life. [why] I am now in charge of my finances. “I’m in charge of … the food I eat now, how often I exercise, ‘she told Smith.

Lovato is now getting ready for the release of her next album, Dancing With the Devil … The Art of Starting Over, next month.

Demi became more indulgent with her sobriety, which made the moderate use of alcohol and marijuana possible, noting that the parameters of her recovery may not be effective for everyone.

‘I would say that I, as I think, the term I best identify with California is sober … You know, I’m careful to say that just as I feel the complete abstinence method is not a uniform fit. – everything is a solution for everyone, I do not think that this journey of moderation is also a solution for everyone, ‘she added in the interview.

Lovato plans to debut her document on YouTube from March 23; Dancing With the Devil … The art of starting over is expected to appear on April 2nd.
