10 Tips and Tricks to Get Started in Outbreak Mode – Call of Duty: Wiki Guide for Black Ops Cold War

From understanding the map, earning bonus points, using vehicles to your advantage to defeat hordes, and even completing side activities like the Dragon Relic, we’ve discussed you in our complete guide to being successful in the latest Zombies mode, Outbreak.

Quick tips and tricks

  • Look for the Star icon on your map, as it indicates your main objective – which could be one of the five possible objectives. Without reaching the main goal, you will not be able to go to the next region.
  • It’s easy to get caught off guard in Outbreak, so make full use of available field upgrades. Although there are a bunch of these special abilities available, we found that the Healing Aura Tier III – especially if you upgrade its various levels – will be an essential ability for your team. It will not only revive the deposed teammates, but it will also heal you.

  • Ammunition min? Look for the bullet points that appear on your mini-map to find ammunition crates around the map.
  • Do not be afraid to spice things up! Teams with different loads have been proven to be much more successful than others using the same weapons, loading, and field upgrades.

  • Do not underestimate any straggler zombies, more often than not, that one zombie you chose to stay alive while continuing to explore nearby buildings or if you use the Pack-a-Punch of Arsenal Machine, eventually dies of you. Since these simple zombies manage to join a herd, you will be amazed at how easy it is to get caught off guard and swarm quickly.

Melee Zombies during early problems for bonus points

Just like the standard Zombies mode, Outbreak offers additional points to sustain Zombies; although this is not a huge bonus, any extra points once you start will help you unlock upgrades faster.

Remember that the knives of zombies are not necessarily an effective strategy, but trouble two, unless you have managed to earn enough points to pack a green rare fighting knife or higher. Although you manage to get the most enemies with the upgrade at once, you will struggle against the Elite and Special Zombies, which are becoming much more frequent.

Alternatively, if you have to use a weapon, try aiming for head shots, as this will earn you extra points as well.

Teamwork makes the dream work

Success in the outbreak comes down to teamwork. Without communication, your team will be quickly exceeded and the goals will be significantly more difficult than they should be.So if you’re playing with a random team or even with a group of friends, you need to talk and start making coordinated calls asking for help, outside boxes, updates, and more.

If you are struggling to succeed with random teams when your friends are not online, we recommend sticking to the dedicated Outbreak solo playlist. Not only will this allow you to get much-needed exercise, but it will also make your overall breakout experience much easier.

Loot all possible

Do not rush through the different worlds as it will be of great benefit to you to plunder and plunder the different areas that each map offers. It will become very clear when you start exploring each map as you will find hidden outer chests in buildings and other random places that contain everything from rare weapons, storage, ammo, armor and even consumables.Although these outer boxes are not marked on your mini-card, they can be found by listening to a ringing sound, followed by a childish laugh. If you can hear this sound, it will indicate that you can find an outdoor closet somewhere in the area.

However, these chests come in different rarity subjects, so do not be surprised if you have to search a bit before encountering the rarer chests.

Buy Armor as soon as possible

As you begin to open more and more outdoor cabinets, you are quickly starting to build up a rather impressive collection of storage. You want to take full advantage of this scrap by purchasing armor at the Arsenal machines that can be found across the map.

These machines are red and gray in color and have a standing mannequin wearing armor. As you progress through the waves and different regions, the game will start to increase noticeably hard, and armor is a must if you plan to survive.

Armor is not the only upgrade you can buy, because you can also buy weapon damage, which we think is more powerful than packing your weapons. Although armor should always be your top priority, we would definitely recommend upgrading your weapon damage once you have enough points.

Vehicles are not just for traveling from point A to point B

While vehicles like the Sedan and the light truck will explore the big maps of Outbreak just as much more easily, it is also very useful to defeat hordes of Zombies. Although it will eventually be damaged over time, it is not too much trouble to find a new vehicle for you and your team as we have found that they regularly spawn on different maps.Furthermore, if you want to shoot down at least 100 zombies with your vehicle, you will complete a Dark Ops challenge. When you complete all nine challenges, you unlock a unique ‘Gray Matter’ Epic Sniper Rifle Blueprint.
