Zendaya Stem Lola Bunny In Space Jam: A New Legacy

Lola Bunny will be ‘just as much a character as the others’.

Director Malcolm D. Lee tells Entertainment weekly that Zendaya’s voice is perfect for Lola because it ‘reflects the authenticity of strong, capable female characters’.

“We reworked a lot of things, not just her looks,” Lee explained of the character. “Like making sure she has a suitable length to her shorts and is feminine without objecting, but giving her a real voice.”

“For us,” he continued, “it was, let’s base her athletic skills, her leadership skills, and make her just as complete a character as the others.”

The official Twitter account for Space Jam: A New Legacy revealed that Zendaya is on the project on Twitter, and tweeted: “Welcome to the Jam, @Zendaya.”
