If YouTube Music does not lack a basic feature that you would expect it to have at launch, the feature is extensive for A / B testing and only available to a minority of subscribers. Just earlier today, one of the previous changes was noticed: the ability to repeat a cast. Unfortunately, although it has been spotted in nature, the function does not actually work … what is the term work?

The change was seen in the YouTube Music subreddit, and I can confirm that it’s live on my device – for certain definitions of “live”. With the change, you can select the repeat button and scroll through the options while throwing, but it does not seem to affect anything. The person who noticed the feature claims that it completely disconnects after playing through it once. My own testing was slightly better: the choice of a single song to repeat was simply left out of account, and the next song would be played. However, if I try to repeat an entire playlist or album, it will fail and the cast would crash with the following error:

Error: Error.

The appearance of an interactive icon is almost certainly an indication that the change is being worked on, but today’s news includes the YouTube Music experience to date: if a feature is not completely missing, it is missing some people as part of a painfully slow roll out, or it is simply broken.

One day, YouTube Music will be a full music subscription service and program – or at least meet the standard set by Google Play Music – but that day is not today.

Alternative evergreen title: YouTube Music has almost a basic feature you’re expecting, but it’s not yet available to everyone and / or broken
