“In view of concerns about the continuing potential for violence, the Donald J. Trump channel will remain suspended,” YouTube spokeswoman Ivy Choi said in a statement. “Our teams remain vigilant and keep a close eye on new developments.”
YouTube has separately said it will temporarily prevent Giuliani from participating in a program that will allow him to make money from his channel due to repeated violations of his policy against false allegations of widespread voter fraud in the 2020 election, according to ‘ a spokesperson. Giuliani could reapply for the program after 30 days if the problems with his account are resolved, the spokesman said.
The impact: Trump has now been permanently fired from Twitter, his signature platform, and is facing unlimited suspensions from both Facebook and YouTube, cutting him off from three of the most powerful means of communication online.
The action against Giuliani temporarily cuts off a prominent revenue stream for the former president’s personal lawyer.
