Youth suffer severe stab wounds at harvest time in downtown Santa Barbara Local news

According to police, a teenage boy was brought to the hospital Wednesday night with potentially life-threatening injuries after being stabbed with a knife.

According to Anthony Wagner, a spokesman for the Santa Barbara police station, a group of four youths were walking in the vicinity of Anapamu and Bath streets when a second group of youths and young adults approached.

One teenager was stabbed with a knife and the rest of the people left the area, Wagner said.

The stabbed knife ran into De la Vina Street and collapsed, and police and AMR paramedics responded to the scene around 5:45 p.m., Wagner said.

The victim was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, and his medical condition was unknown Thursday, Wagner said.

No arrests have been made since Thursday afternoon, and the investigation continues.

Police are asking anyone with information about the stabbing to contact the department at 805.897.2465.
