Resident Evil Village is difficult to separate from its main antagonist, Lady Dimitrescu. The villain was one of the biggest discussion points of the sequel, but it seems that few of us may have pronounced her name correctly.
This is according to Capcom, who advised Brittney Brombacher, the host of the latest Resident Evil Village Showcase, on the correct verdict. You can hear Brombacher pronounce the name in the video below, which she says was the name Capcom eventually went with.
I received some questions about the ruling of Lady Dimitrescu! Capcom informed me on how to say it properly (believe me, I asked) and they approved the take, just take it that way for what you want. 😉 https://t.co/GsZuUviEuV
This may be surprising given the spelling of the name and some estimates of the pronunciation of natives in Romania, a country that strongly inspires the vague European environment of Resident Evil Village.
How you pronounce the name may not be so important while playing Village, which allows you to explore four different areas according to the latest map that confronts not only Lady Dimitrescu but also her daughters and looting brother. The latest preview for the game also shines some light on the mysterious role-playing mainstay, played by Chris Redfield, and how he can know more than he allows protagonist Ethan Winters.
Resident Evil Village launches May 7 for Xbox One, PS4, Xbox Series X | S, PS5 and PC. A new demo starts next week for PS4 and PS5, with limited time to play it. It will be released on May 1 on all other platforms.
