PS Plus still offers ‘free’ games to subscribers and has even started offering them in the last few months PlayStation 5 games. If you do not have a still impossible PS5, you are not completely SOL. All you have to do is claim the games through a web browser.

For $ 10 a month (or $ 60 a year), PS Plus allows members to play online games. In addition, subscribers receive monthly games at no extra cost. (These games are only ‘free’ if you stay logged in. Stop paying your fees, and you will lose access.) The offers are not always worth rewriting, but every now and then PS Plus will some real gems. Over the past few months, players have had the opportunity to add the following Final Fantasy VII Remake, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Greed, en Val guys to their PS4 libraries.

Since the launch of the PS5 in November, Sony has also made PS5 games available to PS Plus members. First in line was Bugsnax, the crazy puzzle adventure game with edible insects. In February, the derby match Destruction of AllStars– initially designated as a PS5 launch title with a price of $ 70 – has been made available, where you can still claim it until April 6 (thereafter you can buy it for $ 20.) This month, the amazing Model, a recursive puzzle game about love and sadness, is available on PS5.

The easiest way to get these titles is through the PS5 itself, as the console dashboard has a built-in PS Plus portal. Just click a few buttons, and the game you want will appear in your digital library. If you do not have a PS5 on which you can do this, you can claim your games via a browser.

  1. Check first Sony Landing Page for monthly PS Plus games.
  2. Click “Find out more” for the game you want, which will take you to the store page.
  3. If you signed in to the store with the same PlayStation account as you signed in to PS Plus, the price should not be paid. Instead of a “Buy” button, you should see the “Add to Library” icon. Click on it.

When you finally get your hands on a PS5, you’ll see all of your claimed games in the console’s game library.

However, there is a small ripple with cross-gen games. For example, Model is available on PS4 and PS5 (and yes, PC). If you grab it via PS Plus, you only get the PS5 version. To play it on PS4, you need to buy a copy. When Kotaku tested this solution with this Model, the game did not appear in our PS4 library, but we were able to download it on a PS5.

A PS5 exclusive game, like Destruction of AllStars, will not be playable on your PS4 at all, but you already knew that.

It may take a while before you can get your hands on a PS5. With this solution, you can at least hit the ground running with a handful of killer games.
