Kidney series creator Yoko Taro and Square Enix producer Yosuke Saito are collaborating on two new games. The information was presented by V-Jump and Famitsu during a talk show for the end of the game industry at the end of the year. [Thanks, GamesTalk.]
According to Saito, Yoko Taro approached the producer in 2019 about a year ago and said, ‘I want to make these kinds of games’ with a proposal. Saito was completely against the idea and strongly objected to it. However, Yoko Taro was persistent enough and even prepared an hour-long presentation to persuade him.
In the end, although it was not easy, Saito conceded to the enthusiasm of Yoko Taro and relieved the production of the game. Even though it’s been more than a year since then, Saito has said that if he had the option to take it back, he would do it. Not much has been done about this game so far, but we’ll see where it comes from. Due to its sound, it may take a while until further details are revealed.
In addition, Yoko Taro and Yosuke Saito are working on another new game, and this is one that the two can apparently agree on. More work has already been done on this title, and it is expected to be released before the next game. Maybe we’ll hear more about it after the release of NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139 in April 2021.
