Yella Beezy was arrested on charges of weapons on Saturday, but the rapper says it was a setup … TMZ has learned.
According to law enforcement, TMZ … Yella Beezy was driving in Dallas when police pulled him over after they alleged he was using stop signs. They searched his car – unclear why – and allegedly found an unlicensed weapon.
Video surfaced online where you see a police car with flashing lights and a policeman in the trunk of the black SUV.
Yella Beezy’s manager Adrian Low Brown tells TMZ … the rapper told him he was driving his armored, bulletproof truck in his old neighborhood to get Valentine’s Day flowers for his GF when police stopped him and said he had blown a stop sign.
He says they told him they smelled weeds, which he said was an excuse to search his car. Beezy says he does not smoke and police found no marijuana and did not charge him with possession of it.
As for the gun they found … Beezy’s team says his entire arsenal is registered.
The driver says he is currently trying to sponsor Beezy. The driver says it is a case of harassment by the police.
