In a universe, Marvel’s Eternal came out this past November. In another universe it appears next week. In our universe it is currently scheduled for this November. And if you’re irritated and frustrated by it all, imagine what it’s like to be a part of it.

Of course, the delay of Eternal (and apparently ever other movies imaginable) is nobody’s fault. The distribution of covid-19 is the culprit and eventually all these films will appear. But for actress Salma Hayek, whose new movie Bliss is out this week, the journey to the Marvel Cinematic Universe begins even before that.

‘O God, It’s bizarre, ”Hayek told io9 when asked about the wait for the film. “You know, I was one of the first people to throw them … They threw me months before they announced it. And you no one can tell. You have to wait. You’re terrified to talk when it’s leaking and everyone play. I did not leak! I was the secret! ”

Hayek finds it especially difficult to keep the secret because she feels her role as leader of the Eternals Ajak is a beacon.

“It was so hard,” she said. ‘Just to be in a Marvel movie too it is very diverse and to be 54 to play a superhero. I’m a 54 year old Mexican who plays a superhero and an eternal. Then they finally announce it. We do it. Now I can not wait for it …then come Corona. I have to wait another year. You [usually] have to wait until they do all their special effects, it takes a long time before they do [that], but now it’s been two years. It tested my patience. But what are you going to do? ”

Hayek also had nothing but good things to say about Chloé Zhao, the director of Eternal who was just nominated for a Golden Globe (and will probably be nominated for an Oscar) for her film Nomadland.

‘[Chloé] is extraordinary. She’s the right thing to do, ‘said Hayek. ‘Very little green screen, right places. As she works with the camera, it will feel and look different than anything you’ve seen in the Marvel universe. Without losing the DNA. But oh my God, she was another glorious being that I met so happily in my life. I love her and I think we’re going to work again. We work really well together. ”

Does it mean Eternal 2? Nomadland 2? We do not know. Can be! But in the meantime, Hayek is in another sci-fi movie this week: Bliss, co-starring Owen Wilson. It will take place on Amazon on Friday. Eternal is currently scheduled for November 5th.
