The Yankees won the battle in New York for veteran reliever Justin Wilson.
The left agreed with the Yankees on Monday, Joel Sherman, The Post, confirmed after also receiving interest from the Mets.
The terms of the agreement, which are pending in a physical case, were not immediately clear.
Wilson, 33, has spent the past two seasons for the Mets and spent the 2015 season at The Bronx.
During his two seasons with the Mets, Wilson hit a 2.91 ERA in 58 ² / ₃ overs. In a fairly quiet season for the Yankees, Wilson joins Darren O’Day as an addition to the Yankees bull. The Yankees traded Adam Ottavino and most of his $ 9 million contract to the Red Sox to open free agent dollars.
The Mets’ Bulls suffered a possible serious blow when news broke that Seth Lugo had been locked up for six weeks when he recovered from surgery to remove a bone trail from his right elbow. The Mets added veterans Mike Montgomery and Tommy Hunter as non-roster guests for spring training.
