Xiaomi Mi 10i adopts the OnePlus Nord and offers much more money

Xiaomi has a bad habit of re-releasing slightly different variants of extremely similar phones for different markets, and the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G seems to be the latest device for this treatment. Today, the company unveiled a strikingly similar Mi 10i adapted for the Indian market, featuring a 108MP primary camera, a 6.67-inch screen and the Snapdragon 750G.

Like many Xiaomi phones, the Mi 10i offers excellent hardware at a low price, starting at just £ 20,099 (~ $ 275). The device has a 120Hz 6.67-inch 1080p LCD screen protected by Gorilla Glass 5, which captures almost the entire front of the phone, although there is a noticeable chin on the bottom. The 16MP front-facing camera shows in the center of the screen. At the rear you will find a camera series consisting of four lenses in the middle middle corner, arranged on a circular hump. It consists of the 108MP camera, an ultra-wide 8MP, a 2MP macro and a 2MP depth sensor.

The Mi 10i is powered by a Snapdragon 750G, which offers significant AI improvements over its predecessors and better performance. A 4820mAh battery should provide the phone with enough power for a day, and it supports 33W fast charging, which according to Xiaomi’s measurements can go from zero to 100% within an hour. There is also liquid cooling on board to slightly strain the battery and processor. Three storage configurations are available: 6 GB RAM and 64 GB storage, 6 GB + 128 GB and 8 GB + 128 GB.

Compared to many competitors, the Mi 10i has quite a range of fantastic: dual stereo speakers, a headphone jack, a fingerprint reader on the side, an IR blaster, expandable storage and an IP53 certification. It’s just a snap that the pre-installed MIUI 12 is still based on Android 10, so let’s hope it does not take long to update the phone to the latest version.

Xiaomi says that the Mi 10i will simultaneously get a hands-free experience for multiple voice assistants via an OTA update after the launch, which could certainly prove to be interesting. As for the “i for India” brand, Xiaomi boasts that the phone is the first to launch the new GPS alternative NavIC, which should allow for more accurate positioning and faster location in the country.

The Mi 10i is only available in India, starting at £ 20,099 (~ $ 275) for the 6GB + 64GB variant and a maximum price of £ 23,999 (~ $ 325) for the 8GB + 128GB version – the OnePlus Nord, which from £ £ interrupted. 24,999 in India. The Mi 10i comes in three colors: Atlantic Blue, Midnight Black and Pacific Sunrise. You can ask Xiaomi to notify you as soon as the Mi 10i is available in the store.
