Xenoblade Chronicles 2 sold in Japan after Pyra and Mythra’s Smash announcement

Can Xenoblade Chronicles 2 finally get the hype it deserves? With just over 2 million sales worldwide since its 2017 release – take Breath of the Wild’s 23 million sales by comparison – it’s still the best Xenoblade game with around half a million.

After the announcement that Pyra and Mythra at the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate grid is going to be added, people rushed to watch the girls (or, er, girl) in action. As a result, copies of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 on Amazon Japan are out of stock, and the US version of Amazon is out of stock.

It can be argued that this was Nintendo’s plan all along – Smash Bros. has the power to revive a flag series, or to draw attention to an underrated series. Maybe Nintendo is just creating a new Xenoblade game – or a Switch port of Xenoblade Chronicles X. We can hope, right?

Are you a hard Xenoblade Stan? Let’s think about what it all means in the comments.
