A new Xbox Update Preview released this week to give Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha Insiders a taste of a convenient feature being added that seems to be perfect for multitaskers and social gamers. The feature in question is linked to the Xbox app for mobile devices, and if you are not already using it, you can be sure to do so after checking the update now available to those in the appropriate Xbox Update Preview rings, tested it.
Microsoft has shared the notes for the latest update on the Xbox website to provide information on how the new “View on Mobile” feature works. This is a simple feature that will make the app much more convenient if you want to do something on your Xbox but want to handle something in the app that will be more intuitive for that platform like chatting with friends.
“Users see a new option to set up ‘View on Mobile’ to complete certain actions in the directory,” Microsoft’s notes for the update explained. If selected, a notification will be sent to the users’ phone (if the Xbox app is installed) to complete the action. “
The image below is shared to show what that new feature in the menu will look like. This is a small change, but it’s a way to better connect the app to the console interface, and it should make it easier for players to start a process on the console and complete it on the app than the feature is available. Microsoft has not outlined all the scenarios in which this feature can be used, but its benefits are obvious when you talk to friends or use other social features of the console.
