American Express is doing incredible work and is offering limited time benefits to its cards in light of the coronavirus pandemic. In early January, we saw Amex add benefits to some of its cards, earning membership rewards points, such as a monthly PayPal credit of $ 30 on The Platinum Card® from American Express (review).
Now, Amex has built in some phenomenal new benefits on its co-branded Delta, Hilton and Marriott cards, which are valid for the remainder of 2021.
Amex adds $ 5-20 monthly eating credit to personalized cards
Exclusively for 2021, American Express has added a new monthly credit card to its personal cards issued with Delta, Hilton and Marriott:
How does it work?
- You can receive a government credit every month if you spend at least $ 5-20 (depending on the card) on US restaurants, whether eating, taking down or delivering
- This credit is valid once every calendar month, between February and December 2021, which means you can use this benefit up to 11 times
- To be eligible, you had to have your card before 1 January 2021 (it is therefore not valid for new card members)
- You must register for this offer via Amex Offers
Amex adds $ 5-20 wireless credit to business cards monthly
Exclusively for 2021, American Express has added a new monthly wireless credit to its co-branded cards issued with Delta, Hilton and Marriott:
How does it work?
- You can receive a government credit every month when you spend at least $ 10-15 (depending on the card) on monthly cordless phone services purchased from US cordless service providers.
- This credit is valid once every calendar month, between February and December 2021, which means you can use this benefit up to 11 times
- To be eligible, you had to have your card before 1 January 2021 (it is therefore not valid for new card members)
- You must register for this offer via Amex Offers
I pay attention to Amex’s new dining and wireless credits
What can I really say, these new limited benefits are extraordinary. American Express does the best job of any issuer to add temporary benefits during these uncertain times, and it does not hold the retention of any Amex card absolutely.
As you can see, the value of these offers ranges from $ 55 for a free annual fee card, to a whopping $ 220 for Amex’s premium cards. Wow. I would say this is especially convincing for Amex’s premium cards, as the annual fees for many are already fairly easy to justify, given the strong benefits. But I would definitely take an extra value of $ 220 on several of these cards.
For those with a lot of credit cards, the maximum utilization of all the current bonuses and benefits is a part-time job.
Bottom line
Sold out American Express cards, Delta, Hilton and Marriott, now contain $ 5-20 credits monthly for the remainder of 2021. What a phenomenal addition, as it can get card members worth $ 55 to $ 220 during the year.
American Express is in a league of its own when it comes to the limited time benefits added to cards. Thanks to all these benefits, I did not even consider canceling these Amex cards.
What do you make of Amex’s limited time for food and wireless credits?
