An 18-year-old Santa Barbara woman was arrested Sunday after she allegedly stabbed an acquaintance several times in a house on the Mesa, according to Santa Barbara police.

Cora Vides
Police spokeswoman Anthony Wagner says Cora Vides was booked into Santa Barbara County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder.
Vides, who is described in the jail records as a student, remained in custody Monday afternoon, with a $ 1 million bail, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
The adult victim, whose name was not released, “did not sustain life-threatening but very serious injuries,” Wagner said and was treated at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
He said officers responded to the hospital and to a ‘crime scene’ in 600th Street of Roberto Avenue, a block east of Meigs Road in a neighborhood just north of Cliff Drive.
Wagner said he could not provide any additional details about the victim, including gender. However, according to sources, Noozhawk said the victim is a young woman and also a student.
“It was an isolated incident,” Wagner said, “and there seems to be no immediate threat to the public.”
The President’s Day holiday was Monday, and according to the district attorney, no criminal charge was filed in the case.
