While there are Android users who always turn off iOS for its notification system, Siri’s aggravating weaknesses, and for other issues, the iOS iMessage app is one thing that is out of the question for discussion. Even those who have updated on Google’s Rich Communication Service (RCS) based messaging platform still prefer Apple’s messaging system. According to AndroidPolice, a new app, launched today, could make Beeper make it happen. This is not a streamlined process as you will see. But it does deliver iMessage capabilities to Android users while creating a unified inbox that covers a number of messaging applications.
For example, Beeper will create one in the box with all the unread messages from programs like:
- Facebook Messenger
- iMessage
- Android Messaging (SMS)
- Telegram
- Slap
- Hangouts
- Skype
- IRC
- Matrix
- Onmin
- Sein
- Beep Network
All the messages look the same, because the idea is to use a single interface for all your chats. And yes Virginia, Beeper says it can connect to Apple’s iMessage even if you’re using an Android phone. But to make it happen, you need a Apple device as a bridge. This can be done by using one of the two options. One method requires you to keep a Mac awake and constantly connected to the Internet. Using the Beeper Mac app, your Android phone can be connected to iMessage. With the other method, Beeper will send you a jail sentence iPhone 4s with the Beeper app installed to connect to the iMessage app. “It’s not a joke,” says Beeper’s website.
With Beeper you can keep messages from different messaging platforms in one in the box
Using Beeper costs you $ 10 a month, and with the last update the iPhone 4s received 17 months ago, you have to wonder how secure your iMessages will be. If you’re trying to figure out how Beeper made iMessage work on Android and Windows, here’s the answer:
“It was hard to figure out! Beeper has two ways to enable Android, Windows and Linux users to use iMessage: we send each user a Jailbroken iPhone with the Beeper app installed that bridges to “iMessage, or if they have a Mac that’s always connected to the Internet, they can install the Beeper Mac app that acts as a bridge. It’s not a joke, it really works!”
