With Spotify you can filter your favorite songs by mood and genre

Spotify makes it easier to analyze your favorite songs. The company today introduces a new feature that allows users to filter their favorite songs by genre and mood. This way you can enjoy more of what you want without sacrificing the atmosphere. For example, I have songs that will be fun in the club, but also folk songs for leisure time, both of which are under my beloved umbrella. With this new feature I can decide what mood I am in and then listen.

To access the filters, you must have at least 30 songs you want. You can then go to your library, use favorite songs and select a filter that appears at the top. You can remove the filter whenever you want and replace it with a new one. These filters will change as you like new songs, says Spotify. For now, they will only roll out to English-speaking markets, including the US, Canada and the UK.

Spotify has made it no secret that it wants to be the app for every kind of audio need, including music and podcasts. While this feature is small, it’s the kind of update that makes a product more useful for everyday use, and that can get people back to the app to like songs, which Spotify wants.
