With no medicines available, Paraguay’s sanitary system collapses in front of COVID-19

No vacancies or basic pharmacies to combat the COVID-19, the main public hospitals of Paraguay are collapsing these markets and is able to receive patients in intensive care units, at the time the doctors in the country are soliciting that a total quarantine of two weeks be decreed to release the contagios.

In a statement, the Ministry of Health informed that was suspended indefinitely for all the surgical interventions programmed in public hospitals throughout the country to address the need for remedies against the pandemic.

Prior to the lawsuit, Derlis León, director of provisional provision for the Ministry of Health, announced that Ineram had received 4,000 doses of drugs and 5,000 medazolam. “But there is no reason why laboratories should not be able to produce the essentials before the high demand, but in two weeks they will receive more doses”, aclaró.

Without beds in the public system, total medical patients

The sanitary collapse also means that there are no beds available in the public system for waiting for new patients from COVID-19, in addition to the 50% (or 39 cams) of those belonging to private sanatoriums and to be able to dispose of the Ministry of Health and Health, indicates this Wednesday the doctor José Zarza, President of the Association of Private Sanatoriums of Paraguay, periodically ABC.

Private sanatoriums have only a handful of rooms available that are 78 open to the public, although these are likely to be used by patients.

In response to the lack of space and medicines, members of the Paraguay Medical Circle will pay the governing body order a total quarantine every two weeks in order to make progress in the creation of contagios.

The President celebrates the “good results”

These advertisements are in stark contrast to the 7 million dose optimists that the governor has announced at the time, while Paraguay, with a population of 7.6 million people, has registered 161,530 new coronavirus cases, with 3,218 deaths and 135,313 cases.
