The Board of Directors of the Bank of Puerto Rico’s Economic Development Office (BDE) ratified, on Saturday, the appointment of the Governor of Puerto Rico, Pedro Pierluisi- of manufacturer and financier, Luis Alemañy as its president.
Germany has a diverse professional experience and is the first to see a manufacturer occupy the BDE executive chair. Pose a Bachelor of Finance degree with honors from the University of Puerto Rico, a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico and a degree in Entrepreneurship and Negotiations from BabsonCollege. In addition, it has more than 20 years of experience in operational management, manufacturing, administration and finance and companies such as American Tools, Toshiba, Baxter Healthcare, 3M Caribbean and Pepsi, and has been working as General Manager and Director of Finance and Operations.
In 2019, the company will be converted into the President and Founder of the company SJT Manufacturing, a company focused on the manufacture and distribution of precision metal pieces, exporting to global multinationals.
In addition, he participates as director of the Board of Directors of the District of Authorities of the Center of the Conventions of Puerto Rico to form part of the decision-making and development project for the best of the Bahia Urban, the Coliseo of Puerto Rico and the District of Conventions.
The BDE Directorate of New Members is chaired by the Executive Director of the Financial Assessment Authority and the Fiscal Agency, Lcdo. Omar Marrero.
