With billions at stake, Republicans Whitmer and Michigan refuse to move

DETROIT The governor and legislature in Michigan have been battling for a year over dealing with the COVID crisis.

Recently, the Republican governing body passed a $ 4 billion supplementary budget with many accessories that the Michigan government, Gretchen Whitmer, would require to abandon the emergency force.

Whitmer weighed Monday where she stands.

Both sides remain true to form. Neither party is proliferating and the war of words is escalating.

‘We have $ 5 billion allocated to the Michigan legislature whose Republican control is trying to hold back the dollars and to try to pressure me to give up executive powers I used to save lives. “They know it’s never going to happen and it’s really sad,” Whitmer said.

Whitmer was on MSNBC Monday morning.

“And so our legislature is really disappointing to play this dangerous game with resources we desperately need, but unfortunately you know we have to keep trying to do everything in our power to move forward,” Whitmer said.

Ben Fredericks, leader of the Republican floor, of Owosso, believes the governor is playing a dangerous, stubborn games.

“I think it continues to paint the picture. This is a governor who simply wants to act authoritarian while talking about the fact that she wants to work with other people at every opportunity presented. “Working with this governor simply means complying,” Owosso said.

Getting the billions of dollars the federal government offers Michiganders is getting harder and harder.

‘The governor will have to realize that this is going on alone and that the shooting from the ruler through press conference must stop. We cannot continue to bite off our lives in two to three increments based on what someone, one person would say. There has to be a plan, ‘Owosso said.
