‘Wish the story was not real’

It’s hard to admit when your relationship is going its way. Luckily, one woman got some unexpected help with a fitness program.

Nadia Essex, a relationship expert from the British reality TV show Celebs go out, took TikTok to share with her ex the time she knew it was time to stop it.

“Oh honey, I have a doozy,” she began.

Essex said she found out her boyfriend was cheating on her after Fitbit congratulated him on achieving his fitness goals by burning off 500 calories between 2 and 3 hours while having an “evening out with the boys.”

She sees the notification because their accounts have been synced. Not for long, but she ended the relationship after that.

Commentators were shocked.

“You’re so much better off without him,” one user wrote.

“Note to yourself: get a synced Fitbit,” said another.

One user said he could dance at the club at the time, but Essex said her ex ‘wished’ that was what had happened.

She’s not the only one who has annoyed a cheat lover with Fitbit data.

In 2019, NFL Reporter Jane Slater told her Twitter followers that she also synced her Fitbit account with her boyfriend so they could motivate each other.

“Did not hate it until he was charged at 4am and his physical activity levels on the app rose,” she wrote. “Wish the story wasn’t real.”

If your partner is going to cheat, maybe not … actually, no, I’ll stop there. Do not!
