MADISON, Wis. (AP) – Wisconsin plans to greatly increase the number of people eligible for the coronavirus vaccine by about 2 million people, including those with certain pre-existing conditions, as positive cases decrease and the availability of vaccines increases.

Government Tony Evers and state health officials planned to announce the next qualification level on Thursday afternoon. The exact conditions that are eligible, and when the group is eligible, remain exactly unknown.

The broadening came because virus restrictions weakened across the state and country. Madison Metropolitan School District, the second-largest state, announced Thursday that all students will return to personal classes by April 27 after kindergarten was this week for the first time.
