Wisconsin health worker ‘deliberately spoils 500 Covid vaccine doses’ World News

U.S. police and federal authorities are investigating this after a Wisconsin health center said an employee admitted to intentionally spoiling 500 doses of coronavirus vaccine.

Aurora Medical Center, in Grafton, first reported that the doses were spoiled Saturday and said a staff member accidentally left them outside the refrigerator overnight. On Wednesday, however, it said the doses had been deliberately spoiled.

Police in Grafton, about 20 miles (32 km) north of Milwaukee, said the department, the FBI and the Food and Drug Administration were investigating the matter.

Police said they were notified of the alleged tampering on Wednesday night, but that no other information would be released immediately. They did not want to say whether arrests had been made.

Aurora said in a statement late Wednesday that the employee in question “admitted that they deliberately took the vaccine out of the refrigerator”. Aurora said he fired the person in question and referred the matter to authorities. The statement says nothing about a possible motive for the action.

“We still believe that vaccination is our way out of the pandemic. “We are more than disappointed that the actions of this individual will result in a delay of more than 500 people receiving their vaccination,” the statement said.
