Wisconsin exceeds the doses of 520K administered; 7-day positivity rate remains below 20%

MADISON, Wis. Healthcare workers have now administered more than 520,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine across the state.

According to the latest data from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, 521,762 vaccine doses were administered. Just under 100,000 Wisconsinites received their second dose.

The latest number of vaccines came as the infection rate continued on a downward trajectory across the country. As of Saturday, the seven-day positive percentage for new tests per person was 19.5%, compared with two-tenths of a percentage point compared to Friday. The seven-day equivalent for the total tests per day dropped two-tenths of a percentage point to 5.3%.

To date, 541,408 Wisconsinites have tested positive for COVID-19. This is an additional 1,493 confirmed cases since Friday afternoon. According to the DHS, approximately 19,600 patients, approximately 4% of all confirmed cases, still have active infections.

An additional 33 COVID-19 deaths were confirmed Saturday, bringing the state’s lifetime death toll to 5,893.

Over the past three days, the number of new hospitalizations has remained relatively constant. DHS officials reported on Saturday that 89 people had been admitted to hospital in the past 24 hours.
