Winter Park reports the largest coronavirus outbreak in Colorado, with 109 cases

The mountain is still operating normally, Winter Park spokeswoman Jen Miller said in an email.

“We have strict employee quarantine and isolation procedures and a zero tolerance policy for any employee who violates quarantine or isolation orders,” Miller wrote.

Outbreaks of employees at ski resorts are climbing as the season progresses and the crowd on the mountain grows. The first major shower of snow last weekend brought pressure on skiers and snowboarders to the resorts of the state, leading to long lifts that went viral. More snow is expected for the Presidents Day holiday weekend.

In total, there are 13 active outbreaks at ski resorts, which are defined as two or more cases. The second highest total after Winter Park is the Monarch ski area with 17 cases. Steamboat, Breckenridge, Beaver Creek, Keystone and Copper Mountain all have active outbreaks.
