Willy Wonka Prequel Released, Paddington Director

Warner Bros. shared an outreach date and a brief overview for Wonka, a new sermon film by Willy Wonka of Paddington director Paul King. According to the studio, Wonka will explore the early years of the title character before becoming an eccentric candy maker. The film tells the story of “a young Willy Wonka and his adventures before opening the world’s most famous chocolate factory.” This will open up for audiences to pick up their choice Golden theater tickets on March 17, 2023.King will take the director’s chair on the film, while David Heyman, whose recent role includes the Harry Potter franchise and the Paddington films, will deliver the long-running Willy Wonka version from a screenplay by Simon Rich, who recently wrote. the Seth Rogen comedy An American Pickle. All three of these names have been attached to the project since 2018.

At this point, Warners had not yet shared any of his cast plans for the film, but Collider heard that the studio was interested in possibly starring Tom Holland or Timothée Chalamet and the younger version of Roald Dahl’s fictional confectioner. The beloved character was previously portrayed on screen by Gene Wilder and Johnny Depp.
