Weather The Oregonian / OregonLive

Forecasters say the Willamette Valley is now being warned of gusts reaching 45 km / h.

The advice, which covers the Willamette Valley and the Portland and Vancouver area, runs from 4pm to midnight Saturday. Forecasters expect winds of 25 to 35 km / h and gusts up to 45 km / h.

The National Weather Service said stormy winds could blow around unsafe objects and that tree shoots could be blown off. According to the agency, distributed power outages can also occur.

The weather service has urged drivers – especially those driving high-profile vehicles – to be extra careful. The agency also encouraged people to secure items outside.
