Will Smith presents a trailer for the Netflix series Amend: The Fight For America on the 14th Amendment
Will Smith took to Instagram on Tuesday to present a trailer for his new upcoming Netflix series Amend: The Fight For America.
The 52-year-old actor produced the six-part documentation and offered to investigate the fourteenth amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which was ratified in 1868.
“What does it mean to be an American?” Smith said to open the trailer in nearly three minutes.

The video then showed American images, including an apple pie and a baseball stadium full of fans for the 2010 opening day.
“What about a citizen?” Smith thought.
Academics discussed how the original U.S. Constitution did not declare who is and who is not a citizen, causing racism to flourish.
‘The core of the fourteenth amendment is the definition of citizens in America. “By this definition, all the rights we cherish are granted and defended,” Smith said.

Smith told his 51.3 million followers on his Instagram page that he has the honor of presenting the trailer.
‘We live in unprecedented days as a society, as a country and as a human family. I believe that cultivating personal and historical understanding is the essential spark that ignites the flames of the necessary compassion and healing, ‘the Oscar nominee wrote in the coach’s caption.
“As Americans, we are trying to form a more perfect union that truly brings justice and equality to all. I believe a deeper understanding of the 14th Amendment is a critical starting point, ‘Smith added.
