Why Prince William apparently hesitates to reconcile with Prince Harry quickly

Prince Harry and Prince William’s possible reconciliation could be a slow process.

The two have reportedly faced a rift since Harry (36) and his wife Meghan Markle withdrew from their royal duties – possibly even longer than reports that William (39) confronted his younger brother about the quick relationship of his relationship with Markle.

On Saturday, the couple reunited for the first time in more than a year for the funeral of their grandfather, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh – and it was revealed that they had a long conversation, which according to a recent report was due to William’s wife Kate Middleton acting as a ‘peacemaker’. However, the report also suggests that William wants to take things slow if they want to improve their relationship.

A friend of the royal family told Vanity Fair’s contributor and royal expert Katie Nicholl that the brothers had temporarily set aside their drama at the request of their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

“William and other family members have very strong feelings about the things Harry and Meghan said about Oprah and things need to be talked through, but it was not the occasion and everyone respected it,” said friend Nicholl, who wrote a piece for publication. “It’s going to take more than a week to clear things up, but hopefully this is a start.”

During an interview with Oprah Winfrey, Harry and Markle (39), they campaigned against allegations of racism and the consideration of mental health needs against the royal family.

Another family friend claimed to Nicholl that Harry had left some family members ‘in the cold’ after the interview, and when the Duke of Sussex told details of a conversation he had with his father with Gayle King, it was allegedly ‘the final straw’ for several others.

“Some family members can not believe what he did, but there is a feeling that with the death of the duke and the family should come together, talks should be held,” the source said.

PRINCE WILLIAM DOESN’T ASK TO WALK HARRY AT PHILIP’S FUNERAL

The outlet reports that Harry’s father, Prince Charles, is “desperate” to reconcile with his son, and even walked through the Queen’s private gardens a day after the service by Harry.

William, on the other hand, is apparently more reluctant to work things out with his younger brother.

“William needs to know that he can trust Harry and that private conversations will remain private,” the informant explained.

After Harry’s conversation with Winfrey aired, he spoke to King, who publicly stated that it was her understanding that the father-son conversation was ‘not productive’. The information that is published apparently upset the family.

It is unclear how long Harry will be staying with his family in the UK. Some have suggested that he return to California on Monday to avoid traveling to the funeral with his pregnant wife, who was advised by her doctor. Other reports suggest he will extend his journey through Queen Elizabeth II’s 95th birthday on Wednesday.

“Harry feels terrible for leaving Meghan behind, it’s been a very difficult week and he wants to get back to her as soon as possible,” a source told the outlet.

Vanity Fair also reported that Markle watched the funeral on television and wrote a note on her and Harry’s note that was placed next to the cliff on the lawns outside St George’s Chapel.
