It probably would not have made any big waves – it’s not a Megan Thee Hings collab or anything – if it were not for a line halfway through the song, if DaBaby kept a photo of JoJo Siwa on his iPhone and rapper ‘you’re a bitch, JoJo Siwa, bitch. “It’s an amazing diss, if that’s even what DaBaby meant. DaBaby is an adult 29-year-old man who was just arrested last month for carrying a loaded firearm. JoJo Siwa is a 17-year-old Nickelodeon star who records songs for children and sells sequins at Target. Recently, Siwa appeared in public about her friend and the internet felt especially protective of her when ‘Beatbox Freestyle’ fell. Twitter users have expressed confusion about why DaBaby would come for a child entertainer; Genius user veduta suggested that ‘Siwa’ might just be a pun on the words ‘see why.’ Or maybe it’s the fact that DaBaby has a young daughter, and he might just be irritated with Siwa’s music as parents get annoyed about Baby Shark. Either way, the memes that dive on DaBaby – especially those that emphasize how Siwa is presumably richer and taller than he is – were abundant and hilarious.
