Why do we not earn the first number in the sales of the best album?

The Good Times and The Bad Ones also starts at no. 3 on the Billboard 200, the quintet’s highest effort on the leaderboard. The new album was strongly supported by sales via the group’s official online store, where a variety of collectible versions of the album were available. In total, of the 38,000 sold in the first week, 33,000 were via CD sales and 6,000 from digital album sales.

Morgan Wallen’s Dangerous: the double album falls in the second week by 22% on top album sales (22,000 sold; by 70% lower), while Eminem’s Music to kill Through vaults 69-3 (15,000; 592% higher) after the release of the album’s luxury reissue on CD on January 15th. The luxury edition, christened Music to Kill Through – Side B, added extra tracks to the year-old album and released them for the first time on digital retail and streamers on December 18, 2020. All versions of the album are summarized on the map. A vinyl release of the luxury package is available in August.

Taylor Swift’s former no. 1 Always falls 3-4 (11,000 sold; 26% lower) while Harry Styles’ previous leader Find ago is steady at number 5 (a little over 9,000; by 13% higher).

Jeff Tweedy tops his first 10 best album sales as Love is the king debuted at number 6, with 9,000 sales. The set was first released via digital retail and streamers on October 23, 2020 and sold approximately 2,000 downloads before being released on CD and vinyl LP on January 15th. In the week ending January 21, the album’s CD sold about 2,500 copies while its vinyl LP moved 6,500.

Love is the king also debuted at number 1 on Tastemaker Albums (which ranks the best-selling albums of the week in indie stores), no. 2 on vinyl albums, no. 3 on Americana / Folk Albums and no. 6 on Alternative albums.

Back to best album sales, Barry Gibb’s all-star collaborative album Barry Gibb & Friends: Greenfields – The Gibb Brothers Songbook, Vol. 1 falls 2-7 with just over 8,000 sales (less than 65%), the former no. 1 by Taylor Swift Folklore drops 4-8 by 8,000 (20% lower), NCTs Resonance, Pt. 1 drops 6-9 with 6,000 (by 16% less) and Chris Stapleton’s Start over decreases 8-10 by just under 6,000 (by 11% less).
