Who is vaccinated in Dane County? The new dashboard has answers

DANE COUNTY (WKOW) – Madison & Dane County Public Health has updated the Dane County COVID-19 data dashboard with more vaccine-related data. Vaccine data are updated weekly on Wednesdays and Fridays.

The dashboard is available at https://publichealthmdc.com/coronavirus/dashboard.

On February 3, 11.4% of the province received at least one dose, and 3.9 percent of their complete vaccination was completed.

35.9 percent of those 65 and older received at least one dose.

“The data most of us are currently requesting is COVID-19 vaccine data,” said Katarina Grande, public health supervisor and data leader. ‘We hope this new information will help the public to better track the progress of vaccines. The fact that more than 11% of people already have at least one vaccine immunity is incredibly hopeful, and we want to emphasize that. ‘

Vaccination data are retrieved from the Wisconsin Immunization Registry, or WIR, and shared with the Department of Public Health by the Department of Public Health. According to a news release, vaccines are being imported into WIR – which includes thousands of clinics, pharmacies and public health websites.

Demographic data may be limited and have some errors; race / ethnicity data in WIR are not regularly checked or updated every time someone receives a vaccine. Despite these limitations, it is important to indicate demographic data to indicate potential inequalities in the distribution of vaccines.

“At the moment, the demographics of vaccinated people who are eligible to receive a vaccine, such as health workers, reflect,” Grande continued. “As vaccines become more available to others in the community, we hope the vaccinated population aligns with the overall population of Dane County, focusing on populations that are disproportionately affected.”
