A new timeline and grouping for COVID-19 vaccines, Phase 1B.4, has been scheduled by the state around March 21 and people 50 years or older will be among the vaccinated.
The new phase, announced by government Jared Polis on Friday, is expected to vaccinate about 2.5 million Coloradans.
Phase 1B.4 will include:
- People 50 and older
- Students facing faculty and higher education staff
- Frontline essential workers in food / restaurant services, manufacturing, US postal services, public transportation and specialized transportation, public health and human services
- Faith Leaders
- Frontline essential direct caregivers for homeless people
- Frontline essential journalists
- Continuity of local government
- Continuation of activities for the state government
- Adults receiving placebo during a clinical trial with the vaccine COVID-19
- People 16-49 with one high-risk health condition
On Friday, government Jared Polis also raised the timeline for when the general public can expect to have access to COVID-19 vaccines, from summer to late April or early May.
