Who is eligible for COVID-19 vaccine in Florida?

More Floridians are now eligible to receive COVID-19 vaccines as additional doses come in and reduce the demand for shots among senior citizens.

Here is an overview of people in the state who are eligible for vaccinations:

Residents 65 and older

Residents and staff at long-term care facilities

Frontline healthcare professionals who have direct patient contact

Sworn officers 50 years and older

Firefighters 50 and older

Preschool to 12th grade employees – If you are in this category and are 50 years or older, you can go for any state-supported vaccine. If you are 49 years of age or younger, you can be vaccinated at retail pharmacies and at the three FEMA-supported sites in Miami-Dade County, which do accept acceptance. College Professors are not still eligible from March 5th.

Residents under 65 considered “extremely vulnerable” to COVID-19 by a doctor – Note that not all persons will take these patients. Hospitals, doctors and pharmacists can administer the shots to patients they deem vulnerable. Three FEMA-supporting sites in Miami-Dade also offer vaccinations to vulnerable patients, who must sign this particular form by a physician to be eligible. (Other state websites, including Hard Rock Stadium and Marlins Park, are not yet vaccinating vulnerable patients under 65.) Government Ron DeSantis said doctors’ offices will start getting Johnson & Johnson doses that they can administer to their patients in need . Consult your doctor and also verify that the site where you want to vaccinate takes vulnerable patients under 65 years of age.
