15:24: The White Sox place right Lance Lynn on the injured list with a strained right trapezius muscle, dating back to April 17, James Fegan of the Athletic was among those to deliver (Twitter link). Illuminator Zack Burdi is recalled in a corresponding step from the alternative training site.

Chicago acquired Lynn from the Rangers during the winter in one of the biggest outdoor moves for any team. The 33-year-old (next month 34) gave the Sox everything they could have asked for in his first three appearances, throwing 19.2 overs of 0.92 ERA / 2.36 SIERA ball and 27 at just two runs beaten. The White Sox have not announced a timetable for his potential return.

With Lynn on the sidelines, Chicago intends to move on a rotation of Lucas Giolito, Dallas Keuchel, Dylan Cease, Michael Kopech and Carlos Rodón. Kopech will start the game against the Red Sox tonight.
