The White House has rejected requests from states to send more doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
According to the White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator, there are plans to send additional staff to help with vaccinations, but no extra doses will be sent.
Michigan is one of the kinds of states that has asked for more vaccines, with its Democratic government Gretchen Whitmer pushing Joe Biden for more doses due to the increase in COVID-19 cases in her state.
‘We’ve been talking to the DC administration regularly over the last few days and will continue to do so. “Anyone who looks at a COVID map knows that Michigan is undoubtedly a national hotspot right now,” Whitmer said. “My team and I regularly spoke to the national COVID response team and we asked for more vaccines.”
The White House Coronavirus Coordinator has rejected the request for more doses, saying the vaccine is still needed by tens of millions of people across the country.
